Pile-driving induced ground vibration to sensitive machines functionality and accuracy
Pile driving activity for a new building construction propagating through the soil layers and transmitted to nearby buildings of a hospital, where medical sensitive machines/equipment are located, and the continuity of vibration free tool performance is essential. Thus, vibration impact and affect to these machines operation/functionality and accuracy were raised by hospital equipment operators and specialists. Vibration measurement was then conducted at the hospital machine locations while pile driving activity was carried out. The results from vibration measurement was used to control the maximum possible height of the drop hammer for pile driving to ensure the pile driving to commence, and not affect the sensitive machine functionality and accuracy.
